Sta. Lucia Land Inc. has joined the town of Manaoag in Pangasinan in celebrating “2023 PaskOne Galicayo ed Manaoag” earlier this December.
Through 1Premiere Land Marketing Co. (1PLMC), its exclusive marketing arm that focuses on residential, commercial and resort-type developments, Sta. Lucia Land took part in this festival, which marks its historical return after over a decade.
“Galicayo ed Manaoag” literally means “come to Manaoag” in the Pangasinan language. According to legend, the town is named after an invitation or call, related to the name of the event that centers on the devotion to Our Lady of Manaoag, or “Apo Baket” to the townsfolk. It happens around the Feast Day of the Immaculate Conception on Dec. 8.
Galicayo ed Manaoag was inaugurated in 1999 and ran for 12 years before its years-long hiatus. The current leadership of the town brought together the founders and organizers to mount this comeback.
Eager to offer its solidarity with the people of Manaoag, Sta. Lucia was happy to indulge in the activities. On Dec. 10, the 1PLMC employees joined the Manaoag National High School contingent for “Panangirayew tan Pisasalamat ed si Ina,” the grand parade and street dance. The team grooved to the drumbeats while bearing colorful flags and tarpaulins, and handing out pamphlets and other materials proudly announcing that a Sta. Lucia community would soon elevate the quality of life there.
