With the current congested air traffic in Manila Ninoy Aquino International Airport, The Department of Transportation together with San Miguel Corporation started the construction of the 2,500 Hectares, New Manila International Airport. The Php 735 Billion (USD 14 Billion) Airport project is touted as the largest airport in the Philippines.
Transportation Assistant Secretary Giovanni Lopez told the Daily Tribune via email the project’s geotechnical investigation and engineering surveys, dubbed as the New Manila International Airport, is 80 percent accomplished.
The site survey and relocation will help proponents finalize the earthwork and foundation design and execute the necessary earthwork repairs.
